Walking around the East Village today, I noticed another example of serendipitous text in public spaces: writing in freshly-set concrete. This activity has a long tradition in New York but is generally considered a form of vandalism. On the other hand, these messages can inspire reverie.
Tangentially, this brings to mind an emerging form of advertising: projecting corporate logos on the sidewalk. It apparently has a lot of benefits. [more]
