Hoping to keep the brain cells moving, here's a brief update from my slightly fever-and-expository-writing-orientation-addled mind. I'm off the Theraflu (ran out) and onto the Cepacol.
Here's what I added to my lists today:
Research
- Investigate possibility of commandeering and using an "eInk"-enabled screen like that used on the Librie.
- Read "Orality and Literacy" by Walter Ong (suggested by Doug Rushkoff)
Requirements
- Pick a representative urban block and catalogue written text visible from the street (build a taxonomy of urban text)
My goal is to read Ong's book over the weekend and hopefully write a response when the football gets boring on Sunday.
I had considered doing a "written" thesis but as I plow through some of the academic junk on the web written about the stuff that interests me I'm starting to realize that unless I actually do something this experience won't be nearly as rewarding.
